Step 4: Installing InfoGlue from WAR-files
Starting with Infoglue 3.0 we support a new way to install the software: by dropping the ready made war-files into tomcat and configure the system from within. This is the new recommended way of installing as it require the least amount of artifacts and will enable us to keep the platform more self-contained and self-mending in the future. The old graphical installer will not be supported, developed any more.
Steps to install
Download the application you wish to install. For admin tools you download the infoglueCMS.war and infoglueDeliverWorking.war. For live instances you download the infoglueDeliverLive.war. Very self explained if you know what applications there are and what they do (which you can read about in other sections).
Once you have the war downloaded you deploy it in tomcat the normal way (either by just adding it under webapps or by using the manager app). Once it's started you go to the application in your browser and you will be guided by a wizard on how to setup the system.
Step 1: Introduction
The only option here is to change language for the installation wizard. Press the "Next"-button to continue.
Step 2: Database setup
The screen helps you connect Infoglue to the right database server/engine. Most fields should be obvious and when in doubt your DBA should know the answer. You can let Infoglue create the database and tables etc if you have an account with enough access. If you wish to use this feature mark the "Create new database automatically" and if you want the example site also check that option. Make sure you enter the correct DBA-account. Press the "Next"-button to continue.
Step 3: Database upgrade (only invoked if it's an upgrade)
If you are connecting the new version of Infoglue to an old database it will show an upgrade dialog. You can copy the upgrade SQL or you can ask Infoglue to do the upgrade for you.
Step 4: Server setup
The screen helps you configure Infoglue to the server/tomcat location etc. Most fields should be obvious. Press the "Next"-button to continue.
Step 5: Setup finished
